TOTEM Scholarship

Music festivals can transform lives for the better.

We believe that the experience of live music should be accessible to everyone, not just those who can afford tickets and other expenses. TOTEM provides opportunities for underserved individuals to become part of the vibrant music festival community. Joining a community also means contributing, so applicants should share their ideas for creating community programming or events, or their vision for a career in live music production.

Our board of directors will evaluate finalists based on multiple criteria: financial and personal need, how the applicant plans to contribute to the event, and how the experience could enhance life skills or career prospects.

This application is for individuals seeking a scholarship to Bonnaroo 2025. Applicants should be between 21 and 25 years old during June 12 – 15, 2025. The scholarship recipient(s) will camp in Groop Camping with the Roo Bus (TOTEM) group camp.

Finalists will be notified by email in early March 2025, and phone interviews will follow. Scholarship recipients will be selected at the end of March 2025. Please make sure to check your email regularly for updates. Good luck, and get out there and radiate positivity!

Scholarship Terms

1. The Applicant is defined as the individual competing the scholarship application.

2. The Applicant assumes all risks.

3. The Applicant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless all organizations and agencies, whether nonprofit or for-profit, including but not limited to festivals and events, their officers, officials, employees, board members, ticket holders, and volunteers, from any and all claims, injuries, damages, losses, or suits, including reasonable attorney fees, arising out of or in connection with this scholarship.

4. No payment or purchase is necessary to apply for a scholarship. 

5. The Applicant acknowledges that they are applying for a scholarship for an overnight music festival to be held in Tennessee, United States, in June 2025. For the purposes of this application, “Scholarship” is defined as one festival ticket, one group car camping pass, camping supplies valued at no more than $500, and a cash stipend not exceeding $250.

6. The Applicant must be between 21 and 25 years old during June 12 – 15, 2025. 

7. The deadline for applications is February 28, 2025. Finalists will be notified via email, and phone interviews will be scheduled for March 2025. Scholarship recipients will be informed no later than March 31, 2025.

8. The scholarship recipient is responsible for organizing their own travel to and from the festival.

9. The applicant grants TOTEM Foundation, Roo Bus, and all other organizations, whether nonprofit or for-profit, including personal and business entities, permission to use their likeness in photographs, videos, and all other media and publications without payment or other consideration.

10. Applications that are incomplete, late, or disorganized may not be reviewed. Each individual may submit only one application.

11. The TOTEM Foundation reserves the right to amend these terms at any time without prior notice.
